Dear Friends,

Congratulations!  Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Seattle Gay Couples.  Our goal is to to create an exciting program of events, build a vibrant community of member couples and a strong foundation for the future.  We sincerely appreciate your joining us and encourage you to get involved.

Membership ... Our requested membership dues donation for 2008 is $50 per couple for the calendar year (we will pro-rate the amount for those joining us later in the year). You can make your on-line payment via Paypal with funds from your checking account, Visa, Master Card, American Express or Paypal account.

Or, be our guest ...  You can also choose to join us as our guest for two months, by choosing the"First Time Guest" option.  We invite you to get involved and discover all we have to offer.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION AND AGREEMENT

This is the fine print, so please take the time to read this introduction to the club and our policies.  As a requirement of membership, each member couple has entered into a Membership Agreement (below).  The information in this section is taken from our corporate bylaws. 

Purpose  The purposes of Seattle Gay Couples (SGC) are to: provide a social, educational and humanitarian forum for same gender male Gay Couples; and, to promote the validity of same-gender relationships as a socially responsible family units.  SGC shall have no political or religious affiliation.  SGC will not provide or promote itself as any form of a dating service, counseling/crisis center or sex club.

Definitions  Member Couple  A member couple in good standing shall consist of gay male persons participating in a same-gender couple relationship (each partner in the couple having attained the age of eighteen years), who jointly agree to any conditions of membership and have paid (or arranged to pay) the required annual membership dues.  Membership Availability  Membership is open to all gay male couples regardless of the geographic location of their residence.  SGC does not condone any form of discrimination relating to an individual's race, country of origin, age (provided they are at least 18 years old), type of employment, religion, or financial status. 

Confidentiality  SGC shall at all times take affirmative steps to respect the privacy rights of its member couples.  Names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and other information about member couples on the official membership roster shall not be published, used or otherwise released except to appropriate officers of the organization, and then only as essential to the provision of service to the member couples.

 
MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT

This agreement is made between Seattle Gay Couples, a Non-Profit Mutual Benefit Corporation, duly incorporated in the State of Washington (“SGC”), and the individuals listed on the accompanying electronic Application for Membership .   By your each choosing “I Agree” on the application form, you both individually agree:

1.       ByLaws  Agree to abide by the terms and conditions of membership contained in the bylaws of the corporation (which may be updated from time-to-time), which are made are available to all members.  Specifically, that you meet the requirements for a Member Couple and are eligible for membership in SGC.

2.       Photos  You acknowledge and agree that we may publish photos of you taken at our events.  Access to photos are restricted, and are available to members only in the member's section of the web site.  If either of you do not wish to have your pictures taken, you will be responsible for advising the SGC photographer at each event.  It is not possible to guarantee that you will never appear in the background of a group photograph, but we will make every effort to respect your desire for privacy.

3.       Published Information (Restricted to Member's Only)   SGC will only publish or make available to our members such information as you both have specifically provided to us for that purpose on the membership application form (or have updated from time-to-time on the web site). 

4.       Payment of Membership Dues  Our requested yearly membership dues donation is currently $50.00 per couple, which is due and payable in advance between October 1 and November 30th of each year.  Couples joining mid-year will pay a pro-rated amount.  All monies paid to SGC are non-refundable when paid. 

5.       General Release  You both agree to hold SGC (including its officers, directors, members and volunteers) harmless to the fullest extent possible from any and all liabilities, damages, expenses, costs, claims and causes of action arising from, or connected with your membership or your participation in or attendance at (including travel to and from) any of our events or functions. 

6.       Confidentiality  You agree to respect the privacy of other members and of the organization and agree that you will not use or disclose any information (relating to other members, or any other confidential information you may come to obtain relating to the group) to anyone else, or use it for any purpose other than legitimate SGC group activities.

7.       Agreement Lifetime  The General Release and Confidentiality provisions of this agreement shall extend beyond the termination of your membership with SGC.

3x3x6 DINNER GROUP INFORMATION

During registration, you will be asked if you would like to participate in the 3x3x6 dinner group series. Each dinner group is made up of three couples, each of whom host a dinner for the others during a thee month period.  If you indicate you are interested, we will contact you to make arrangements for you to participate.
